Longtime Berlin residentBrian DeLude is running on the Democratic ticket for Mayor of Berlin. He is a current Berlin Board of Education member. A civil servant for 26 years, he has spent the last 15 years working for the Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division, where he is responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and overseeing community-based programs and services that total over $100 million dollars in contracts. His team provides client services with not-for-profit services providers and other agencies to help individuals remain free from the criminal-justice system by coordinating client services with community providers and other state agencies. His ability to work collaboratively and provide solution-focused guidance keeps communications flowing freely and efficiently and fosters positive, ongoing relationships between all stakeholders.

DeLude says, “My approach to decision making is guided by the principles of results-based accountability, and I believe that same approach is essential for leading Berlin.”

Government transparency and communication would be a primary focus for DeLude as mayor of Berlin, which has an operating budget of $106M. ($113M in 2026.) “The public has a right to know how and why their tax dollars are being spent and have a voice in town decisions, “ he says. His other priorities include strengthening relationships with local schools, supporting public safety and community well-being initiatives, continuing to review amenities in town for access to all age groups, programming and housing for senior citizens, and expanding arts and culture events.
